The Bard PowerPort™ is a catheter device that allows medicine to go directly into your bloodstream. There are many reports of these medical devices breaking, moving and leaking. This can lead to a variety of complications. Patients claim these devices have also caused medical problems such as infections, clots, and bleeding.
Many problems have been reported by patients who used the Bard PowerPort™. These problems include, but are not limited to pulmonary embolism, infections, bleeding, clots that reduce blood flow (thrombosis), and broken pieces embedded in organs and arteries. Many injuries occur soon after the device malfunctions, but some complications, like arrythmia, occur even 90 days after the device breaks or fractures.
We are currently investigating reports of serious injuries and complications related to use of the Bard PowerPort™. These devices have been linked to many health issues.
